Canada invites 545 Provincial Nominee Program candidates || Oris Visas

Canada invited 545 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence on May 11.

All invited candidates have been previously nominated to the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and have a Composite Ranking System (CRS) of at least 753. The minimum score is relatively high, and Express Entry candidates automatically add 600 points. Their scores are received. Appointed by the county committee. If there is no nomination, the candidate with the lowest score will receive 172 basis points.

For this draw, the tiebreaker rules have been set to 2021-12-15 20:32:57 UTC. Candidates with the lowest allowed scores will only be invited if their profiles are submitted to the Express Entry pool by that date.

In the last round of invitations, Immigration, Refugees, and citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 829 PNP candidates with a score of at least 772.

FSWP and CEC draws to resume in July

Canadian Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announced on April 22 that Express Entry invitations for Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates will resume in early July. Meanwhile, the minister said he expected most new Express Entry applications to be processed within the six-month standard of service.

This is important news as the Express Entry draw for FSWP candidates has been suspended since December 2020 and the draw for CEC candidates has been suspended since September 2021. Processing times for these plans are also currently well above the six-month target. IRCC implemented a temporary suspension to process high-quality requests waiting in the queue and to ease the backlog of urgent requests exacerbated by the pandemic.

With nearly a million job openings and historically low unemployment, this temporary policy change helps reduce the flow of skilled foreign immigrants into the Canadian labor market.

Immigration has become more important than ever in Canada, and Express Entry is expected to once again be a key tool for Canada to attract international talent and strengthen its economy.

According to an IRCC press release on April 22, the backlog of delivery items more than halved from September 2021 to 48,000 by March 2022. Additionally, it doubled the number of permanent residence decisions it made in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter. the same period in 2021. IRCC issued 156,000 permanent residence decisions between January 1 and March 31, 2022.

By 2024, IRCC aims to welcome more than 110,000 immigrants annually through Express Entry.

What is Express Entry?

Express Entry is the application management system for three of Canada's most popular immigration programs: the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. PNP candidates in the Express Entry pool are already eligible for at least one of these programs.

Express Entry ranks candidate profiles using a points-based system, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The highest-scoring candidates will receive an invitation to apply (ITA) and can then apply for permanent residency.

After a candidate submits an application, an IRCC officer reviews the application and makes a decision. The officer will request biometric information and may schedule an interview or request additional documentation.

If the application is approved, IRCC will issue a Certificate of Permanent Residence (COPR). Eligible permanent residents can complete the landing process. If you are outside of Canada, you can use pre-arrival services to help you start settling in Canada.

Who was invited?

Below are hypothetical examples of possible invitations to the new Fast Track sweepstakes.

Yesenia is 39 years old, holds a bachelor's degree, and has been an information systems manager for 6 years. Yesenia has a high level of English and has never worked or studied in Canada. He joined the Express Entry pool with a CRS score of 386. He recently received a provincial nomination through the Alberta Express Entry stream. His new CRS score of 986 is high enough to win an ITA in the new Express Entry lottery.
